Sona College of Technology in association with Sona Star Innovation Pvt Ltd, is announcing a significant milestone, a groundbreaking ‘Sona Xccelerator Program’, spearheaded by Vice Chairman, Mr. Thyagu Valliappa, is reshaping the engineering education landscape. Our Principal, Dr. S. R. R. Senthilkumar provides good support & encouragement throughout the session.
Through a holistic approach that integrates engineering disciplines, digital technologies, and essential soft skills, we are shaping the graduates who are well-prepared to face the industry.
Initially, the program started with a workshop on “Design Thinking” to learn how problems can be identified in real-time from the industry and how these problems can be solved digitally. Our esteemed Industry Mentor and Guest of Honor, Mr. Rabindra Sah, CTO, Indian Register of Shipping (Ex Chief Engineer, TATA Technologies), has given valuable guidance.
Following that, the training program on the “Foundation Course on Unreal Engine (UE5.2.1)” in collaboration with Epic Games was completed by our Unreal Engine trainer, Mr. Rabindra Sah. Participants were trained for 40 hours from February 12th to 17th, 2024, with a specialized focus on Virtual Reality. Nearly 30 students and 12 faculties benefitted from this World Class Training program.
The titles of the projects are as given below:
"Sona Campus Tour" is an immersive virtual reality experience designed to provide an interactive and engaging tour of our college campus using Unreal Engine. This project offers students, parents, and stakeholders a realistic and immersive insight into our college campus from anywhere in the world.
The virtual factory environment provides an immersive, detailed replication of a real-time textile manufacturing facility. Through advanced 3D modeling and simulation, users can explore machinery, observe weaving and dyeing processes, and visualize the equipment in action, fostering understanding of industrial processes in a virtual setting.
Sona Basement - AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction), immersive visualization refers to utilizing technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance the design, planning, and presentation of projects. This allows professionals in the AEC industry to create immersive experiences for stakeholders, clients, and team members.
A virtual reality punching bag game designed to provide a fun and immersive fitness experience. The main objective is fitness, so the project is based on body movements. Using Unreal engine to develop a VR fitness punching bag game, where the player needs to punch the bag experiencing VR using Oculus.
The VR car configurator project would be an exciting and interactive way for users to customize vehicles in an immersive 3D environment. The main objective is to create a visually appealing and customizable showroom or outdoor setting where users can view the car. Users can also walk around the car or rotate it to view all sides and main components.
